Welcome to LSEMUN 2026.

Honourable delegates and faculty advisors,

It is my honour to welcome you to the 20th edition of LSEMUN, organised by the LSESU United Nations Society. LSEMUN has gone a long way from its crisis-centric roots to one that celebrates diversity and innovation, as seen from our committee offerings. The Secretariat has been honoured to have the chance to meet so many different delegations around the world as part of the Society's outreach initiatives, and it is now our opportunity to welcome you all to London, to a high quality conference organised by one of the best performing MUN societies in the country.

We are excited to meeting you all at the LSE in March, not only because we know that you will bring fresh perspectives and innovative solutions in committees, but also because one participates in a MUN conference to meet like-minded delegates. We hope to learn about each of your stories in London, and of course over some pints (weather permitting).

Norman Meisner Nielsen

Secretary-General, LSEMUN XX

What is LSEMUN?

The London School of Economics Model United Nations is a three-day academic conference that provides university students with opportunities to meaningfully engage with current-day geopolitical crises, develop their public speaking and teamwork skills, and meet world-class speakers in the field of international affairs, security and public policy.

Since its inception in 2006, LSEMUN's mission has been to:

  • Underscore the importance of crisis management skills in diplomacy and government;

  • Encourage a multi-facted and interdisciplinary approach to international issues;

  • Strengthen the negotiation, adptability and strategising skills of our delegates;

  • Foster the next generation of diplomats and public servants.

Navigating Crises -
Transforming Challenges into Opportunities

In 2026, LSEMUN will return for its 20th edition. This means that we are taking a new approach to how the conference is run, as well as redefining Model United Nations Conferences in London.

LSEMUN used to be a crisis-only conference, which provide for a far more dynamic experience. This could mean dealing with confrontations between groups with mutually exclusive aims in real-time, and working with the frontroom and backroom simultaneously. We are of the opinion that crises scenarios do not necessarily manifest themselves in simulations only but one that applies to other committees, including General Assembly Committees and a plethora of specialised committees.

The 2026 edition will feature an unprecedented range of committees and topic choices, as well as one that celebrates diversity, innovation and creativity.

The London Social Experience

LSEMUN is a unique opportunitiy to meet delegates from various universities across the United Kingdom and around the world. We are dedicated to providing a conference that allows delegates to interact with new faces, as well as a gateway to the London MUN Circuit. We also know that the social experience does not end in the Committee Rooms. Hence, the signature LSEMUN Boat Party on the Thames will be making a return in 2026, alongside various opportunities to engage with LSE's most treasured activity - networking with like-minded diplomats.
