European Committees
The EU Foreign Interference Act: Promoting Transparency and Resilience in Democratic and Economic Processes

Director
Alvin Engström
Alvin is a History and Politics student at the University of Cambridge. Although born and raised in Sweden, he has also lived in Belgium and Germany (Saxony and Baden-Württemberg). He has been doing MUN since 2022, having served as a chair and delegate in seven different countries, predominantly on the other side of La Manche. Outside of MUN, his interests include CEE history, continental philosophy, and terrible puns. At LSEMUN, Alvin will be one of the Head Directors of the ambiguously called European Committee.

Director
Clothilde Jeanne Mazurier
Clothilde is a 3rd year French student enrolled in a double degree program at Sciences Po Bordeaux and Hong Kong Baptist University, with a major in Global and China Studies. Following her experience co-presiding the MUN club at Hong Kong Baptist University, and currently the Deputy Director of the Fédération pour la Diplomatie et les Nations Unies (FDNU), she is excited to engage with the UK-based circuit at LSEMUN. Outside of MUNs, she enjoys wine and oenology with her Bordeaux tasting association and travelling the world.

Co-Director
Daniel Yang
Daniel is a 1st year master’s student taking International Relations and History at LSE. Originally from Calgary, Canada, he also took Economics and Political Science at the University of Ottawa. Daniel is experienced with North America’s MUN circuit, and he participated and chaired at conferences in Calgary, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, and New York. Daniel also helped organise the University of Ottawa’s Model Parliament for five years, sitting in the real Canadian House of Commons. Outside of school, you can probably find Daniel visiting the zoo, watching the Stanley Cup finals, or listening to Taylor Swift. For LSEMUN, he’s excited to engage delegates with the legislation and parliamentary processes of the European Parliament and Council.

Co-Director
Syméon Laloux
Symeon is a Master 1 student pursuing a double degree in EU Law and Languages at Paris Pantheon-Assas University and ISIT. Originally from Lille, he is currently on an exchange year at UCL in London. With four years of MUN experience, he has served as a delegate, lawyer and staff member at conferences across Europe. This year, he joins the LSE MUN 2026 chairing team and will co-lead the EU Crisis Committee, aiming to create an immersive and unprecedented crisis. Beyond MUN, Symeon is deeply engaged in promoting student diplomacy within the FDNU, where he has organised speech contests in collaboration with embassies. He now serves as the organisation’s young ambassador in the UK, focusing on European affairs. Outside of his academic pursuits, he loves swimming, practising body workout outside, and dancing at socials, especially French rock and bachata.
