Students Today, Leaders Tomorrow
Promoting the values and aims of the United Nations at the LSE. As a 1-stop society for positive change, we give opportunities for Model UN, careers, speaker events, skills development, and volunteering. The United Nations is one of the largest and most operationally diverse societies at the LSE. At our core, we proudly represent the UN’s values, both through academic conferences and through other mediums such as volunteering, speaker events, career support and transferable skills development. In addition to this, we act as the conduit between global perspectives and grassroots student initiatives. Our members seek the best from the opportunities available to them.

Welcome to UNSOC 2025-2026!
As the old saying goes, UNSOC has something for everyone. We operate one of the most operationally diverse societies at the LSE. The excellence of the society and our members is reflected in our partnerships, the Model United Nations Conferences that we participate in and those that we organise. But more importantly, we provide a platform where every member can come and express themselves and debate one of the most pressing issues of our time.

UNSOC also hosts one of the most wholesome student groups that you can find on campus. The UNSOC Committee is committed to providing everyone with the opportunities to succeed, to develop their public speaking skills and find their bearings in a very tumultous time. We hope that you can come to our events, join our trainings, but most importantly, be part of a community that supports each other (beyond the traditional networking needs at the LSE).

Kelvin Ng
President, 2025-26
Model United Nations is a unique form of academic debate where participants take on the roles of diplomats at a United Nations conference, and discuss important political, social, economic and cultural issues. However, Model UN involves more than just public speaking skills; delegates must also demonstrate high levels of diplomacy, lobbying, negotiation and policy-writing, as well as quality research skills and awareness of international affairs.

While our training is rigorous and stretches our delegates’ academic tenacity and diplomatic fluency, it’s also vital that participation remains accessible to UNSOC members from all backgrounds, with all levels of experience. For those with experience, we organise the TeamLSE Fellowship Programme which sponsors delegates representing LSE in various international conferences.

TeamLSE was awarded Best Medium Delegation in LIMUN 2025, and Best Delegation at ULMUN and UCLMUN 2025.

Partnership with the London Youth Diplomacy Foundation
UNSOC is proud to be the partnering student organisation with the London Youth Diplomacy Foundation, which organises one of the largest and most prestigious Model United Nations Conferences for high school students, London YouthMUN in the United Kingdom. Those interested should click the logo for more details.

This division of the society assists students pursuing careers in the UN and related international organisations. We provide this by relying on our wide range of professional connections and tight-knit alumni network. The division holds events such as career panels, mentorship schemes and networking events for students to gain insight into the world of international development and the United Nations.
Engaging with the core values of the UN, our careers events involve a variety of organisations and firms in the field of international development, arbitration, consultancy and the United Nations itself.

We also connect our members with the current endeavours of the UN and help them engage in issues they care about. This year, we are offering opportunities for our members to volunteer for initiatives they care about through our new volunteer team.
